AEDs are portable defibrillators that shock the heart back into a proper rhythm. Schools, gyms, casinos, churches, airports, federal buildings, aquatic centers, sports complexes, and other places where large public gatherings occur must have at least one readily available, and staff must be CPR/AED Certified!
Commack Volunteer Ambulance Corps has a Public Access Defibrillator Program that offers AEDs to businesses in our area to keep everyone safe! Through our AED service program, we ensure every AED is rescue-ready in the event of an emergency!

Who are we?
Since 1966, Commack Volunteer Ambulance Corps has been providing Emergency Medical Services with pride and commitment. Today, CVAC proudly answers over 4,000 calls for help annually to residents of Commack, East Northport, Elwood, Smithtown and Hauppauge. With over 200 volunteer members, we are always ready to answer the call 24/7/365. Our volunteers receive high quality training using the newest in life saving equipment, allowing us to be prepared for any emergency at any time. Our fleet of five Advanced Life Support ambulances and six Advanced Life Support responder vehicles ensure we arrive within minutes with all of our equipment ready to help. Our History
The Commack Volunteer Ambulance Corps was founded in 1966 when a group of local residents joined together after the tragic loss of a child. Initially, the use of a hearse from a local funeral parlor was required whenever there was an emergency. In 1966, Commack Ambulance purchased their first ambulance, an old style Cadillac, and responded to 140 calls within the first three months. This ambulance was originally housed at Christ the King Church, and was later moved to a potato barn (which is now currently Vehicle Tracking Solutions) on Veterans Motor Parkway. In 1967, Commack Ambulance purchased their second ambulance, a 1967 Cadillac. In June 1973, the organization adopted a 24-hour residence response. Members would be alerted of emergencies by phone, and would keep in touch via CB radios. In 1974, the Ambulance Corp broke ground on their current location, 200 Burr Road.
