Special Operations Divison
The Commack Ambulance Special Operations Division is an elite group of highly skilled EMTs and Paramedics who have undergone advanced, specialized training. These dedicated professionals are trained in critical areas such as Rapid Sequence Intubation (RSI) for difficult airway management, high-angle rescue, search and rescue, drone deployment for reconnaissance, and mass casualty incident (MCI) management.
Many of the team members have pursued these specialized qualifications on their own time, demonstrating their commitment to enhancing the department's capabilities. They are also actively involved in internal funding and securing the equipment necessary to provide these advanced services to the community consistently.
In addition to their operational responsibilities, the Special Operations Team plays a vital role in training fellow members and employees. They lead comprehensive MCI training programs, preparing the department for scenarios such as active shooter incidents, large-scale vehicle accidents, aircraft emergencies, structure fires, and other complex emergencies. This ensures that the Commack Volunteer Ambulance Corps remains at the forefront of emergency readiness, always prepared to respond at a moment’s notice.
