Opioid Overdose Program
The New York State Department of Health's Opioid Overdose Centers for Public Education aim to combat the opioid crisis by educating the public on opioid risks, recognizing overdose symptoms, and administering naloxone, a life-saving antidote.
Commack Ambulance, a NYS DOH registered Opioid Overdose Center, offers free naloxone training and distribution. We often connect individuals to substance use disorder treatments, provide support services, and collaborate with local hospitals for community outreach. We also collect and report data on overdose incidents to inform public health strategies and advocate for policies that support prevention, treatment, and recovery efforts.
